Geocaching on the RiverWay

Ready? Set? Search!!

Geocaching is a fun and interactive outdoor sporting activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", anywhere in the world. Not a Geocacher yet? No problem. You can sign up for free and start the fun today! River Action has hidden a number of caches along the RiverWay for you to locate. River Action has partnered with local geocaher Joshua Swanson to maintain and continue to add geocaches along the RiverWay.

Each cache is primed with a little prize from River Action for the "first to find" [FTF in geo-speak]. It's typical for geocachers to leave behind small "treasures" that are fun to find so bring something with you to leave in the cache for the next hunter. After you find the cache you can hear some unique history about the specific area as each cache ties in with the RiverWay eTour. So be sure to have your smart phone with you.
