The canoe/kayak leg is an out and back in Sylvan Slough. Racers bike a short stretch on a coned lane of River Drive to Sylvan Island. You will turn off of the paved trail onto Sylvan Island for 2 laps on a challenging mountain bike track. The course will be clearly marked. You will then return to the transition point via the riverfront bike trail. The run will take racers down River Dr., to 12 St., and up to a hill climb in Velie Park and return to the finish line. Everything but the run down River Dr. will be similar to the 2009 course.

IMPORTANT – The bike trail is not closed! We will have course marshals out but you may encounter bikers or walkers on the trail. Be aware. The run leaves from the boat house transition point, through downtown Moline to a hill climb in Velie Park, and back via the same route.
