Tune Up For Taming - Aug 19 & 26, Sep 2 & 9





What: 'Tune Up' is a series of training sessions open to Taming of the Slough racers and the general public. We will have free canoes and kayaks on a first come first serve basis thanks to an in-kind donation from Princeton Outdoor Adventures. This is intended to be a fun, loosely structured event, that promotes adventure sports in the QCs.

When: Tune Ups will be held Thur evenings, Aug 19 & 26 and Sep 2 & 9 from 530-7 p.m.

Where: QCRA Boathouse, 17th St at the Mississippi River in Moline. Paddle section will be in Sylvan Slough [2 miles], bike to Sylvan Island for a couple off-road laps[5-7 miles], and run on the riverfront trail to Sylvan Island [2 miles].

Why: Get prepared for Taming of the Slough or just to enjoy some time on the water or riding trails on Sylvan Island.

After: Stick around afterward Tune Up for food and drink specials on the patio at Bass St. Chophouse.

Other details: Water station available at staging area. Bring your water bottles! Volunteers will help watch over equipment but there is not a secured transition area. Bike locks recommended to secure equipment if you want to be 100% safe.
