Kamyar Enshayan

Kamyar Enshayan is an agricultural engineer and served as the director of the Center for Energy & Environmental Education at University Northern Iowa. His work included major community projects on energy conservation, renewable energy and strengthening Iowa’s local food economy. Kamyar received the Sustainable Agriculture Achievement Award from Practical Farmers of Iowa in 2008. Shortly after the floods of 2008, during his tenure on the Cedar Falls City Council, he helped the city pass the strongest floodplain ordinance in Iowa, making the 500-year floodplain the regulatory floodplain, giving more room to the Cedar River.
