Floatzilla - August 19, 2017

Take part in the largest paddlesport festival on the the nations greatest river, the Mississippi! Help us set a new world record for the Largest Flotilla of Man-Powered Crafts and newly this year, the Largest Simultaneous Kayak Launch.

Compete in the water balloon launch and kayak races during Packet Pick-Up on August 18 at Credit Island! There will be food and live music presented by Daytrotter.

Floatzilla 2017 will be two days packed with music, food, and paddling fun!

Riders may register using one of several ways:

  • Stop by the River Action office at 822 E. River Drive, Davenport - Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Each pre-registered group will receive a mailed confirmation.

You can also register during Packet Pickup:

  • Friday, August 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Credit Island Lodge, 2200 W. River Drive, Davenport, IA

Event Day Registration

Though we recommend registering before the day of Floatzilla, you may register at your desired launch location.

Packet Pick Up will be August 18 at the Credit Island Lodge starting at 5 p.m. There will be games, kayak races, local food trucks, and live music on the island! Don't forget to bring your athletic gear and check out the swap meet.

Sign up to volunteer at this year's Floatzilla! Volunteers are needed on Friday and Saturday (August 18 and 19) in multiple locations, and multiple jobs. All volunteers will receive a Floatzilla volunteer t-shirt and will have the opportunity to attend a pizza party!

Positions include:

Packet pick-up at Credit Island on Friday
Registration, parking assistance, unloading vessels, and launch assistance at multiple locations (Empire Park, Ben Butterworth Parkway, Main Street Davenport, Marquette Street, Credit Island, and Lake Potter) on Saturday
Portage assistance on Sylvan Island

Due to last year's success, we will again be having a Floatzilla volunteer appreciation party. During this party, there will be a brief orientation on the various volunteer assignments accompanied by pizza! This party is on August 17 at 5 p.m. at the Credit Island Lodge. This is also the time that volunteers can pick-up their shirts, understand where and what they will be doing at the event, and meet other volunteers!
