Launch Sites

I-74 Bridge construction will prevent us from using the Empire Park launch site this year. We will be back in Empire soon!

Launch from in the Sylvan Slough and portage over Sylvan Island on this 6.5 mile trip to Lake Potter. Drop off your canoes and kayaks at 1701 1st Avenue in Moline then park at the TaxSlayer Center. A shuttle will bring you back to the YMCA docks where you can get on your way! (6.5 mile paddle with an estimated paddle time of 2-3 hours.) All paddlers launching at the Bass Street YMCA must portage over Sylvan Island.


Shuttles back to the Bass Street YMCA and TaxSlayer Center Parking lots will be leaving from Sunset Park/Lake Potter after our group photo. Leave your boats in the security area while you get a ride back to your vehicle. Return to pick up your boat.

Launch from Leach Park in Bettendorf and lock through at Lock and Dam 15. (6.5 mile route with an estimated paddle time of 2-3 hours - river crossing required.) All paddlers launching from Leach Park must lock through.


Shuttles back to the Leach Park Launch site will be leaving from Sunset Park/Lake Potter after the group photo. Leave your boats in the security area while you get a ride back to your vehicle. Return to pick up your boat.

Lindsay Park Yacht Club offers slip entry before locking through at Lock and Dam 15 on your way to Lake Potter! (5 mile route with an estimated paddle time of 2.5 hours - river crossing required). All paddlers launching from Lindsay Park must lock through.


Shuttles back to the Lindsay Park Yacht Club will be leaving from Sunset Park/Lake Potter after the group photo. Leave your boats in the security area while you get a ride back to your vehicle. Return to pick up your boat.

Launch your boat at Marquette Street, Davenport, IA, for a short paddle on the Mississippi River (2-mile route with an estimated paddle time of 1 hour - RIVER CROSSING REQUIRED).

Shuttles back to the Leach Park Launch site will be leaving from Sunset Park/Lake Potter after the group photo. Leave your boats in the security area while you get a ride back to your vehicle. Return to pick up your boat.

Credit Island offers a short paddle across the river into Lake Potter (.5 mile paddle with an estimated time of 30 minutes - RIVER CROSSING REQUIRED). Paddle back to Credit Island at the conclusion of the event.
